Turning ideas into Action: The First Wave of Matching Grant Fund Projects Begins!

After months of anticipation, we are thrilled to announce the kick-off of the first Matching Grant Fund projects’ implementation. It all started in September 2023 when we launched our Matching Grant Fund Call for concept notes on innovative and climate-resilient projects. The response was overwhelming, with over 420 applications pouring in from across Africa, the Caribbean and Pacific.
In a next step, our expert committee carefully evaluated the concept notes and those that passed the evaluation based on our pre-defined criteria headed to the full proposal stage. The potential partners then participated in our readiness programme, fine-tuning their concepts into full proposals.
After the final evaluation by our experts, around 45 exceptional projects advanced to the eligibility assessment stage and finally contracting. Now as of July 2024, the first contracts are already signed, and project implementation is officially underway!
We are keen to work with our various partners in the cocoa, maize, and livestock value chains on the implementation of their innovative project ideas.
