Internatioanl Women's Day 2025: In rural communities across the world, agriculture is not just a livelihood but a vital part of heritage. Women, long considered the backbone of smallholder farming, are being recognised for their leadership roles and empowering their peers with the skills to build resilient agribusinesses.

Nigeria: In the vast farmlands of Nigeria, where agriculture is the heartbeat of rural communities, one woman is driving change from the ground up. As the world celebrates International Women’s Day, we shine a spotlight on Iretiolu Olufunmilola Odi, a passionate agribusiness professional and Master Trainer whose work in agricultural development is transforming the lives of farmers across Nigeria.

In Zambia, women-led farms are turning their activities into thriving businesses with the help of the Farmer Business School (FBS) by Agri-Business Facility for Africa (ABF). Over 16,000 farmers, especially women, from the Luapula and Eastern Provinces have gained valuable business management skills that extend well beyond traditional farming methods in the last three years.

Accra, Ghana: Picture a world where women in agribusiness are unstoppable, boldly transforming the landscape with their ideas, resilience, and vision. In pursuit of this inspiring vision the Agri-Business Facility for Africa (ABF) and MOVE-ComCcashew organized an intensive Training of Trainers (ToT) for 25 women agripreneurs on Gender makes Business Sense Plus (GmBS+). This transformative ToT took place from August 19-28, 2024, in Accra, Ghana.

From 23rd October to 3rd November, the Farmer Business School (FBS) Coordinator Dalila Dalhoumi from Tunisia travelled to Mali for her first Ambassador Mission.

The Business Support Facility for Resilient Agricultural Value Chains (ABF4VC) kicked-off the first Master Trainer Network Conference titled “Agribusiness is my learning journey”. The Conference is hosted by the African Union Development Agency-NEPAD. The experts for successful agribusiness training approaches such as the Farmer Business School (FBS) come together for exchanges, updates, and strengthening an already strong network to further boost African agricultural sectors.
